c# Short URL wo Page in path

Okay, I am again in need of something and I don't know what it's called so that I can find it.

 

Generally in asp/asp.net you see a page with a parameter like this;   www.site.com/page.asp?id=123   What I am looking for it the ability for; www.site.com/123

You will need rewrite rules.

 

Although I suggest using asp.NET MVC which takes care of most of the stuff for you by setting up a route system :)

if it is blog software like wordpress, check it in the settings which you can change the path/url format.

 

otherwise use the rewrite rule for that.
