I was very fortunate to get a copy of ESET Smart Security from a generous friend here on Neowin but I've been having an issue since day one and I have gone through all the settings and can't seem to remedy it.
First my startup time, that is from the time I login and reach an active desktop, has more than doubled. I turned off all the auto scans at startup as ESET recommends but it barely helped. Also when compared to other Security software my system responsiveness has highly decreased. Many AV review sites recommend ESET as one of the lightest Security Suites on the market.
Does anyone use it who can give me some pointers on either how to lighten the load on it or something else that will work less taxing on resources? I can't understand why it has such an impact as I am running an I7 processor and 16G of Corsair vengeance memory and on a Samsung SSD.
