My new computer build commencing tomorrow

Judging by his profile he's 15. I don't expect him to be super cashed up, so for his first build I think he's done alright. I'm sure he'll improve next time.

Yeah your absolutely right... my main issue is cash shortage, I am on such a tight budget. I plan to keep on extending and expanding this build though... first up comes some LED fans so it looks cool and then an NZXT Sentry 3 fan controller.

And yeah I'm 15... I get money by working as a freelance journalist on Digital Journal. Formerly I actually worked on the front page here (Neowin) but had to leave because of my age.

Thanks! I like journalism, I like computers, I want money to build computer = Lets try and find somewhere that will pay me to work as a freelance technology reporter. So first off I applied for Neowin where I wrote for three days - you may have seen my posts, I am James Walker although they have now been removed because of the legal issues arising from my age. So that was a shame because I believe Neowin to be the greatest all-round tech site and the admins/editors/forum members here are all great. Anyway, after a bit of web searching I found Digital Journal and the editor there has no problems with me writing there despite my age... so I now cover technology/current affairs/anything else that takes my interest for them. But, wow, page views aren't great and neither are earnings when compared with Neowin. Neowin feels my home despite only having written here for 3 days... I'll definitely be resigning from Digital Journal and re-applying back to Neowin literally on my 18th birthday.

But yh, computers are my life pretty much and now I finally got something I, at least, will call decent for my needs and at the very least something that can be expanded into something decent by anyone's books. Career choices as mentioned by someone above: I'm considering working as an actual technology journalist preferably in a UK magazine such as Computer Shopper. Ideally I want to be self-employed as a games developer at my own company or truck driver... I don't what it is but I love trucks + coaches. Yh, in case you hadn't realized I'm your typical teenage nerd/geek. Sitting in a bedroom coding with niche hobbies...

Its good you have a solid idea on what you want to do as a living and I hope you manage to achieve what you really wish to do.

I'm sure there are many successful "nerds" or "geeks" that spent their teenage years doing what you are doing, the tech industry is full of them including some of the most successful ones. haha

Keep at it and you have a brilliant future ahead of you. Passionate tech-savvy people like you will continue to be in high demand for many years to come.  (Y)
