Watch Tim Schafer plays through Day of the Tentacle

This glorious video before us is a Let's Play of Tim Schafer himself playing Day of the Tentacle.

 

The 40-minute video features Tim narrating a playthrough and sharing little tidbits of information regarding production, voice actors, scripting, and other juicy trivia about the classic LucasArts adventure game.

 

And while the video was posted on May 9, it was actually released back in June 2012 as additional bonus content for the "Double Fine Adventure" documentary.

 

This is a great watch, especially if you're a huge Day of the Tentacle fan like I am. You probably already saw in my latest c-blog, but I immortalized Purple Tentacle on my left arm as a tattoo, and this game is near and dear to my heart. I don't believe there's a part 2 to watch, but this is a fantastic look into a game that deserves your time and attention, even today. Give it a look and check out one of my favorite games of all time.

this was one of my favorite games ever, certainly out of the adventure genre (though there were a lot of other titles) 

 

i think i only got to play it in 1996 first. and it was amazing (though hard, due to my mediocre knowledge of English at the time)

 

this is one of the landmarks of adventure game genre, which is making a huge comeback,  much like the 2d platformers

both are enjoying a huge improvement with hand drawn hi res graphic, while keeping core gameplay oldschool style.

It already sort of made a comeback with indie gaming.

 

Gemini Rue and Hector are really nice adventure games. Kentucky Route Zero looks nice too.

 

I really love the indie market for that. I love 3d action games but i still like 2d rpg and adventure games.

Yea that was one of the best point-n-clicks ever.. wouldn't mind seeing a HD remake of that one.

HD remake would be awesome. 

 

Though I really did not care much for Larry HD remake.  The VGA remake was more then fine.

 

This and Grim Fandango needed the remake way more, since they are much much more complex games.

They need to do it like Secret of Monkey Island where you could toggle back to the old graphics. I would also like to see Full Throttle.
