Tracking mass emails on Exchange?

Recommended Posts

We've been having issues where employees have been sending mass emails to clients after being continually told not to do so, we have systems in place for this already and we're worried we may end up on an MX blacklist. We're running Exchange server 2010, is there a way we could see who's been sending mass emails?

The exchange toolbox should have some tracing tools if I remember correctly. I'm using 2013 now so kinda rusty. Lol.

You should be able to see who's sending mass emails however based on traffic on the server or other criteria.

Do you have a mail filter other than exchange? Mass mailing isn't an issue, mass mailing to a watched honey pot is.

The clients would have to report you in many cases if really sending to clients that know who you are. Eg, I get a ton of mail from horizon blue cross, most of it is junk, you can be sure I am not the only one getting this message. Mass mailing on the 100's of thousands if not millions.
