How do you make Metro/Modern Apps larger?

I am working with an Elderly couple and have already shown them how to use the zoom level in internet explorer. However, when it comes to Metro/Modern apps, they are trying to use the Mail app specifically because it has an easier to use layout than Gmail does. Is there any method to zoom/enlarge the interface of the app so that it is easier for them to see, without changing the screen resolution?

Select settings from charms then change pc settings.

 

Select display then look for more options | change the size of applications...

 

If the display supports it you should have the option 'Larger'
