nukenorman
So some Android Tablets have GPS but they are only wii fii. How can the GPS work without a data plan downloading the maps from google maps as you are traveling?
Ambroos
You can either use a third-party GPS app that does do full offline mapping, or use Google Maps. Google Maps caches the route when you start it, so if you give it a few minutes before leaving you should be fine if you don't leave the road. And in general, using a tablet to navigate is a bad idea. A dashboard-mounted phone is super-easy (I mount mine on the vents).
nukenorman
Thanks. Yea with everyone having smart phones seems like tablets without Data plan as a GPS device is silly and why they even include GPS.
HawkMan
Because gps is part of all the CPU chips so they only need to ad the antenna and because you can buy both TomTom and farming apps with offline maps for android.
