This came up within minutes of installing the new version. I clicked the I do not care button. Waiting to see if it comes up again or not. If it does, this program will be history also.

I said it was the cnet effect, not that you're getting your s/w from them.

Yeah,

I know what you meant!

I just tried defraggler on another computer. Does the regular/full defragging always take as long as what it took?

Depends on the spec of the machine and the amount of fragmentation... it's no slower than the Windows defrag IMHO. Plus you can defrag single files which is nice.

Looks like you got a dodgy download.

Latest version is 4.5.4.0, look here http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/

I stopped using Defraggler cos is was so slow, Auslogics disk defrag is much faster.

Exactly why I don't use Windows defragger. Slower than molasses!

Downloaded the new version directly from here. I agree Auslogics is much quicker, but don't need any stupid pop up telling me it's time to take a break!

You are correct, I just got that pop-up after installing 4.5.4. Awesome, other good product ruined by greed.

I just wrote up a support ticket to pass on my dissatisfaction about this.

You mean you got that pop up after installing 4.5.5! ;)

Thanks for taking the time to write up a ticket also. Where did you find a link to do that at on their site? I'm not seeing it.

Got this reply just now:

Thank you for your message and I am sorry there was an issue installing our software.
I would like to assure you that we do not include malware or viruses in our installers. We only work with reliable partners, whose offers are screened and tested to be malware and virus-free. If an installation is flagged by an antivirus program, it must be a false-positive, which unfortunately may happen with legitimate software. No third-party product is ever installed silently with our programs - you are always shown the offer first and given the option to decline it.
If you need help installing our software or uninstalling a third-party product you accidentally accepted while installing our software, please let me know and I will be happy to assist.

Thank you for being our customer!

Looks like it's a one off offer that never returns once declined.

In light of that, and the fact that Auslogic Disk Defrag is pretty good, I will continue using it.

I never saw that pop up on any of my 7 Windows 7 machines in version 4.5.4.0 though.

I haven't seen it pop up again either, so maybe I will continue using it also. Installed defraggler on 1 computer and it took freaking forever to defrag and I KNOW my computers aren't fragmented, at least according to Auslogics. ;)

Thanks for the replies and Top Qat for posting that message from Auslogics.
