Scraggles
I recently purchased a Logitech K750, and it works great. I pushed the button for the solar app today and realized the batter was at 85%. I hadn't ever seen it drop below 100% before. Well, I decided to throw it in the window to charge up for the first time. I live in Phoenix, so not a cloud in the sky. Just blistering hot sun coming in the window. I went to the movies, watched Godzilla destroy Mothra X2, and now I come back to see... it charged to 86% in 3 hours... The keyboard was hot to the touch from the direct sunlight for 3 hours. Is this normal?? If the charge is this slow, this keyboard will absolutely not work for me. Has anyone else had that issue? Mindovermaster Moderator Posted May 26, 2014 Moderator Share Posted May 26, 2014 Batteries degrade over time. It's a common recurrence especially upon laptop batteries.
Scraggles
Lol I agree... But the keyboard is maybe 3 weeks old.

Hum
Good luck. My Logitech 750 keyboard went belly-up, after a couple of years. Won't charge at all. The battery inside is supposedly not replacable. :/
Odom Member Posted May 26, 2014 Member Share Posted May 26, 2014 I have 3 of those keyboards and have had no issues with them over the years. They also charge with the light from your room (regular lightbulbs). Maybe you had bad luck and got one with a bad battery. On the back side of the keyboard, just about where the Logitech logo is between the solar panels, there is a small compartment where the battery sits. You could try and open it and replace the battery. Alternatively, contact Logitech and they will replace your keyboard, as it is 3 years old and under warranty. For me, their support has been stellar so far. They even replaced keyboards that were well over the warranty.

GotBored
I've had the same keyboard for about 3 years, opened solar app and its at 100% (LUX is at 92 with room light on). I wouldn't put it in direct sunlight if it were a blistering hot day because it could overheat and cause problems, even though its a solar powered keyboard too much sun/heat isn't good for any indoor electronics. Check the LUX level in the solar app and put it under light and then away to see if it has any changes, maybe its faulty or maybe you haven't allowed it to charge correctly. Put it away from direct sunlight but somewhere where the LUX is in a good range.
Odom Member Posted May 26, 2014 Member Share Posted May 26, 2014 I am in the office now with overhead lighting on and my LUX meter is at 500+. If you think the battery is is bad, just RMA it to Logitech, they will send you a replacement.
Starbuck84
Also, don't trust the Logitech Solar App too much. Once my K750 started blinking its red LED. It needed to be charged. I left it in direct sunlight, the red LED stopped blinking, but the Solar App kept telling me it's power level was "too low, and it needed to charge", sticking at 13%. Even after a reboot. I removed the app, removed all its directories by hand and reinstalled the app and it told me the battery percentage was 98%.
