Help finding a good Computer desk

Recommended Posts

So i am finding it hard to find exactly what i want based on the money i wish to spend (?100).

A simple yet solid looking L shape design. The shortest side being to the left. Its to go under my bedroom window. Ideally the product needs to be in the UK. I have been searching for weeks but not found anything i like. Maybe someone out there has recently purchased one and can recommend a retailer. This is the last throw of the dice before i buy something i dont really want. I dont really want a keyboard pull out and draws are not a must. Simple and bulky.

Many thanks.

I thought this was a long shot. But had to ask.

These Ikea Galant desks are all the rage on the overclockers.net forum as they are large and can be customised when budget allows.

This one, is an L shape, shorter side to the left, and if you get it in white, its ?105

and is actually similar to the one I am getting :)

I have the ikea MALM wich is really solid and as a pull out L table on the side. It also has some excellent built in function for cable management where you can put cables, extension sockets and power bricks and chargers on a hidden kind of shelf on the underside at the back of the desk.

If you want the computer in the corner the galant is a better solution though, but I haven't had much use for that anymore since I stopped using huge fat monitors ;)

Thanks for the input guys. I have seen the Galant table in recent searches online and was not too sure about it. Wish the T-Leg was not so expensive. I believe it was tha A-Leg that put me off the table. I think i may have to reconsider.

So on Saturday i will be going out to buy my desk. My girlfriend has talked me in to getting the White version of it. Once its built it will be used for my xbox one until my pc build is complete. All i have at the moment is my chassis and a 1tb hdd. Lots still to buy. I just want it all NOW!.

Just a thought, if you want to save money (maybe for your pc build!)

I'd advise the following:

linnmon-adils-table__0184582_PE336273_S4

http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/S69929643/

I've been using it for the last couple of years and although it isn't as rock solid stable as the Galant desk, it offers plenty of space (2m long 0.7m depth) while being nice and minimal, and you can buy the cable tidy tray to screw in under if for an extra 15 quid.

Just a thought.

Word of warning to anyone who owns a Galant desk.

I was informed yesterday that the range is being discontinued. Anyone who is thinking of upgrading their current desk may want to do it sharpish.

NOOOOOO I need to add to my setup!

I hope they hold off here in the US, I really like the possibilities you have with the Galant Series

They have gradually reduced the options for the gallant desk for a few years now. It used to have the same options and under supports as you find on pro office furniture.
