Nashy
So it's hard to find information for what I actually want, as in the USA things are worded differently to what I'm used to when it comes to mobile phones, contracts, and pay as you go. That and most searches bombard me with Travel SIM services.Basically, my parents are travelling for a holiday in the USA for a few weeks, and we are wondering what is the best option to get their mobiles up and running. Roaming is out of the question, as the costs are simply too high. I've looked at travel sims, but they are quite high too.Is it possible to purchase a pre-paid / pay as you go SIM from say AT&T, put it in their phones, and top it up for use while they are there, and then just leave and forget about it? Any help is appreciated.
Stokkolm
Yup, all they need to do is visit an AT&T or T-mobile location if they have GSM, which I assume they do. http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/accessory.prepaid-gophone-sim-card-sku6890236.html
