New system and Anti-Virus software

Hi,

 

I have a second PC I use strictly for offline gaming and it goes online ONLY when I need it to for Windows or game updates. The rest of the time it is completely offline.

 

The basic question is, do I need a realtime AV/Security suite for this system or can I go with just an on demand for and if I download files, which is unlikely?

If you're getting your updates from official sources then I say that you should be fine. They infect you in different ways, such as DRM and the like. ;)
