I normally don't do this for a customer, usually they just ask me what to look for in a laptop when they go shopping. So I usually tell them to look for X CPU and X ram and X screen size. I've had a hard time finding a laptop which meets a list of these specs, plus one that has good reviews. So i'm just going to list a bunch of specs and if you know or own any laptop like this then let me know Budget around $1,100 / 1,200 Keyboard with a numeric keypad (She uses quickbooks so she needs to enter numbers, her and I need a numeric keypad!) CPU I7 or i5 Sreen 15 inch CPU i5 or i7, she says she wants "THE BEST" .. but for what she does (Internet, Quickbooks, photos) I think an i5 should be good, but if you know of an i7 for a good price lets hear it. Ram : 8 GB + HDD Easy access to the hard drive. Seeing how i'm going to be servicing this laptop once it's out of warrenty, I would like the hard drive to be accessed easily. I do not want to take the whole computer appart to gain access to it. The laptop should have a cover on the bottom of it which exposes the hard drive :) . Also I have installed an SSD in her new Dell in her office so she is in love with SSD. If you know of one that comes with an SSD great, if not I will be replcing the HDD with one once it arrives, also why I want an easy access hard drive So let me know of or own anything that fits those specs. Thanks for the quick response. I as really looking for an 15 not 17 as she may want to travel with it. But let me look up the repair guide for that computer and see how easy the drive comes out. We have a guy who subs to us that does that (usually only with monitors, thank god) - and it drives both us and the clients nuts. Then - THEN - you want to make sure its easy for YOU to service, who cares if its best for them? Do you even know what the ultrabook qualifications are? Why do you care so much about removing the hard drive? Don't you charge per hour when you're servicing something? So what if it takes you another hour? Thats billable time. You're not going to get many with easily removable trays, batteries, etc anymore. Reason?
