Tear system in Netflix?

Recommended Posts

$8 a month for Netflix is a really good deal for internet HD content. They have a big library of movies and TV shows. The one big problem with Netflix is that they don't get new release content. Now they could just often pay per play movie or TV show but most people who has a Netflix account would not use it or try to avoid that type of system all together.

Would you like the option to pay more for new release movie that comes to DVD and you can just watch it on Netflix instead of using Redbox? If so how much more of month are you willing to pay for this option? Like it or not new TV shows are much different and just paying more just would not make much sense for the studio. Placing a few ads like on cable TV do would be a good option for some people. If they don't want to pay for cable TV but want to watch the latest Big Bang Theory show. They would have to watch a few ads per episode. Like what Hulu Plus does but don't need to have that if Netflix is doing it. Any thoughts on this?

Ah, the tear system. The more you cry, the cheaper renting films becomes. ;)

I don't use Netflix, so I can't comment on the idea of a tiered system since I don't know how extensive their library is. From what I've heard from other people though, I think the old saying should be applied. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
