I'm curious to hear what the reasoning was when the one that survived gets out of the hospital.

Don't break into people's houses and don't point guns at people. If that's too hard to live by, you're asking for it and sometimes you get it in full - BAM! And good riddance.

Doesn't this come under the Castle Doctrine?

Well of course it has to be investigated, or anyone would be inviting people they dislike over and murdering them under the guises of "he invaded my house!"

Yup. Even here the prosecutor would investigate. Then the homeowner would get a medal.

Seems like the title to the news article was just for clicks.  It makes it appear as if the father shot them because of the gun to the head.  (note, I did not read the followup so not sure if the dad argues against what I just typed).  Title of article could be "Man shoots armed men attempting to enter house"

100% support the family, but that was also pretty brazen. He must shoot often to have had the confidence he wouldn't have hit his daughter.

the racist tea-bag shooter violated the human rights of the poor young teenager, a local entrepeneur and up-and-coming buisnessman, without even reading him his rights and asking him to drop the gun and discuss it peacefully.

the distraught families of the murdered youth should post photos of him from his elementary school yearbook and tell the media what a good boy he was, and that the gun was only a bottled soft drink that fired skittles. they should sue him, his family, the state and local authorities, the gun manufacturer and ammunition maker, president obama, john kerry and hillary clinton for not writing an executive order deleting the second amendment.

the hispanic looking shooter obviously had decided to shoot the poor innocent black child well in advance shortly after he mistakenly assumed his daughter was being disresepected and thus it would be pre-meditated 1st degree murder of yet another black youth by a whitey.

even if it turns out he was black himself. hang him for owning a gun in the first place.

i'm sure the child, was an A-student,  and had good intentions and that he would have released the girl and they would all have a good laugh about it over a beer if he had not over reacted and killed the poor honour student and ex-football star without warning.

yet another reason why people should have their rights to self defence removed completely. that's the police's job. if he had waited and called the police after it was over rather than shooting one more life would have been saved.  the shooter didn't even sing kum-by-yah or put a flower in the poor baby's gun before violating his rights to self expression.

the police would have arrived eventually to handle the situation,  and after filling out all the paperwork, and filling the 4 body bags with the family, called the coroner while putting out an APB for the unknown suspects who got away. they might even have caught them.

remember, when seconds count the police are only minutes away.

oh. i forgot to blame GWB in there. take it as a given.

Don't forget, the shooter, the home invader, and the teen were ALL off-medication at the time of the incident. The two survivors are now currently in a local undisclosed psychiatric facility receiving counseling, rehab and strawberry shortcake ...

The way the mainstream hype machine has been playing things up as of late, you'd think the above would be in the mix somewhere too.

Good shooting on Pop's end. (Y)

yep, hitting him with his daughter as a human shield takes not only balls, but a good eye. he must practice a lot. as we should if we want to retain our rights.

one thing to remember, if the perp is holding a knife or gun to someone like that, if you shoot them in the head, they will NOT have enough time to pull the trigger or stab before their brain turns to moosh. even if you have to shoot thru the human shield's shoulder to hit him, it's better than the alternative. and never shoot to wound.

The news source says "Murder" apparently they don't understand the difference between a homicide and a murder.
