[Help] I want to buy a new wireless printer

Recommended Posts

Hello friends,

I'm looking for a Wireless printer that I can set on my office and send to print from any place I be in the same network or if possible even from my cellular network connection.

I have an Android Nexus 4 and my Family has iOS devices, no windows phone here. So, I need to send to print from my cell phone or their iOS devices. But also of course from laptops and macbooks.

I was wondering if you have experience with a good wireless printer that could fit our needs.

Thanks in advance

The HP OfficeJet 8600 Pro is the printer I have.  It's a network / wireless printer that works flawlessly with all devices.  My brother printed to it from his Android tablet, my parents can print to it with their iPad Mini, and my wife prints to it from her laptop.  You can also set it up with an email address to print remotely from anywhere on any device.  Plus, it's an awesome printer.

we bought a Samsung monochrome laser printer a few months ago. does the job. black & white, fast, wireless, and it was like $70.

To me, this was a major selling point: the cartridges cost the same as any other printer, but because it's considered a small business printer, the ink is dry and lasts a long long time.  I bought a black cartridge from Staples for $38, and it's printing capacity is 2,300 pages!  The color ink cartridges I bought (a pack of 3) cost I think $46 and print 800 pages.  Heck, when I first got the printer it contained the smaller 'starter' cartridges, and they lasted me a year!  And I print frequently and never in draft quality.  Plus, the printer has a duplexer, so you can print 2-sided without the manual process.  It has a feeder for the scanner/copier that works flawlessly.  Since it's network connected, it updates the software automatically.  It's great being able to scan a picture straight from the printer (using the touch screen controls) to your PC.

I've recommended this printer to a couple other folks (including my dad) and they all love it.  It is without a doubt the best printer I've ever owned.  You will not be disappointed.

I would check the price on Newegg, or even Staples.com.  I got this printer for $150.

oh! that is interesting... I'll look in other stores then.. good to know about the ink!! thanks for sharing your experience, I'll take a look for sure to this one.

People still buy printers, ill be a paperless son of a bitch.

Hehehehe, I was paperless as well, but when kids are at school they need to make homework and schools ask for some stuff in paper, etc. So, I have to get one and I want one that be useful, wireless and cheap on inks.

We have an AOI http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?cc=us&lc=en&product=3221646 which is terrific, BUT it's only wireless b/g so copying files off using the card reader is slow... you can ofc use the USB cable. Or get a card reader. But then after all, this is a printer, not a glorified card reader. Ignore me. Going off piste now.
