jp.vdvyver Posted June 20, 2014 Share Posted June 20, 2014 I once had a Sony Vaio fit 15 with win 8 loaded with bloatware, no recovery disk. However I used a win 8 upgrade disk to do a clean install on a freshly installed SSD, and it worked, though it didn't asked for any serial codes. I'm guessing the notebook had some sort of embedded registration or something.. But I'm getting a MSI notebook, and has a win 8.1, and not sure if it would be the same experience like before doing a clean install. You use an 8.1 ISO or 8.1.1 ... then use one of the 3 serial numbers floating around the internet depending on which version you have to get it installed. Then use a tool to look at the Windows 8 serial in the bios.
