greythorne
Hello, Screen is broken. I can power up the phone but nothing appears on the screen. When connected to computer I can see the phone listed but when I clicked on it nothing happens. The phone is locked with a password. Now I want to recover the data on it, is it possible to do that? The Evil Overlord
The only way I know about is to replace the screen, sorry bud :( There are some tips on how to source a replacement screen on youtube, and how to replace it if you wanted to give it a shot... +Warwagon MVC Posted June 20, 2014 MVC Share Posted June 20, 2014 ya out of luck without a new screen. for future reference Maybe get a carbonite account. It's $55 per year for your computer PLUS it also backsup your phone. :) On second thought do you have a custom recovery on there? Maybe you can boot the phone into recovery mode and with the volume up and down and menu maybe navigate and mount the storage media to USB just a long shot. techbeck
Samsung phones are easy to replace the screen. Just buy a new screen, check YouTube for a vid on how to replace, and be done with it. I replaced a screen in a Galaxy Nexus device and it took no more than 10 minutes. EDIT: Tried to install the KIES program from Samsung?
greythorne
I think there's some blue liquid inside the screen. I guess I will have to replace the whole display.
