All networks "limited connectivity" - can't remove adapters in devmgmt

A friend was having issues with her laptop.

 

Amongst the usual cleaning, I removed Panda Security/Antivirus.

 

However, since I removed this software, the laptop won't connect to any networks (wireless or wired).

 

There are a lot of adapters etc. showing in Device Manager but when I try to remove them, the list refreshes and they remain. Safe Mode doesn't help.

 

Any ideas?

Try to remove Panda NDIS from add/remove and reboot. And if you find anything related to Panda remove them too then reboot.

I have already uninstalled it. There are no other Panda entries anywhere.

 

I've also ran the Generic Uninstaller utility from their website.

 

I've even re-installed the software, restarted, uninstalled, restarted.

 

No luck.

Ok, did you try to re-install your network drivers?

 

This and this is what I found in Panda's forum. You probably have already seen them. I'd use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall it and remove registry and the leftovers, reboot, this usually helped me before. Try it and hopefully it will help solve your problem as well. Let us know how it goes.

Why don't you try re-installing your drivers & just put in another AV? Try kaspersky, avast or even quick heal for that matter. May be the prob lies with Panda av as u mentioned that you tried uninstalling and re-installing again w/o any luck

You can remove them in the registry.

 

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\adapter

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\NetworkCards\# (If only one adapter is loaded, # will be 1)

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\adapter

 

reboot after you have removed them in the registry and they should be removed out of device manager.

I'm not familiar with Panda Security's products, but if you have removed all of their objects from the computer and the problem continues, you may wish to try resetting the network stack.
