There's obviously some ambient case noise, but the problem sound is that of the repeated clickyness... you'll know it when you hear it. New Recording 2 (1).zip Thoughts? Barney T. Administrators Posted June 23, 2014 Administrators Share Posted June 23, 2014 Sounds like a bad fan. If it is the fan, it could be a bad bearing or a wire in the way of the blades. I would troubleshoot the fan to make sure it is clear of other wires and do it with the side off of the computer case to verify it. I would RMA it while you can, if need be. I suppose it's a relatively new PSU so I wouldn't tamper with it or give ebuyer any other reason to deny an RMA. The last time I used them over 7 years ago they had a premium rate support line and a very slow response time via their enote system. I used the latter as I didn't fancy racking up bills more than my order value. (this is scan.co.uk) They said turn the PSU the other way around because some power supplies don't support being mounted upside down :s I noted that this case has an air inlet from the bottom and a dust filter, therefor, I don't think it'd be the best idea. The rep then noted that if you have front mounted case fans and that cool air would actually help the PSU cool and that warm air rises, with it being a PSU based at the bottom of the case, this could work better. So I rang international support at EVGA and when I asked if the PSU I have should support being mounted in both orientations in my case, they instantly hung up on me... twice :S Anyway, I'm with you on this, it shouldn't make this sound either way around.
