IE11 in Win 8.1 - No longer supports organisation of favourite bar?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I've been talking with a few people on TechNet about a problem I've had organising non URL based shortcuts in IE11 on Win 8 and it's an issue not that is not only localised to my installation.

I first noticed the issue when I attempted to place a couple of automatic RoboForm logins as my first and second shortcut on IE11's Favourite bar - when I restarted IE they had moved from the set position and were now located in alphabetical order after my URL based shortcuts.

I initially thought it might be a problem with my install but now, after speaking with testers on TechNet, I find its something that IE11 does.

I just wonder why?  Is there any way I can get an answer from the IE team?

Thanks

It seems to me this bug: https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedback/details/808697/ie11-favorites-bar-bug-local-html-file-links-are-automatically-pushed-to-the-bottom-of-the-list

Although you can file new bug and ask around on any of these places about your situation.

Yep, your first link identified the issue. Seems it was never followed up.

You can vote on it and add in your Watch List, if you like.
