Sir Topham Hatt
So, in case you didn't see my other thread, I have recently bought a fairly good graphics card (AMD R9 270X). Today is pretty warm (at least for here!) with temperatures about 22?C / 70?F outside, so probably about 24?C inside, maybe. I have a Shuttle PC: Space inside the case is tight but I chose it as I stopped playing hard core games so thought I didn't really need anything huge like the Antec P182 case I had before - far too big! So I built the Shuttle with a liquid cooled processor importing a part from America. Currently the temperatures are: The PC has been on for a few hours earlier, an hour rest and now on again. However when gaming, the temperatures go up to: The hard drives were at their hottest at this point, 45?C and 46?C. I wasn't gaming particularly long, perhaps about 20 mins but I am worried the PC simply isn't cool enough. I know a bit cooler would be better but I'm not sure what to do. I don't mind sending the graphics card back, getting a cheaper / older card which wouldn't be so powerful and therefore wouldn't get so hot? The 270X is my first dual slot card with two fans keeping it "cool". Or are these sort of alright for some intense gaming, and perhaps I should just keep an eye on them? Screen Resolution: 1680 x 1050, not overclocking, SandyBridge i5. Thanks all :)
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted June 25, 2014 Moderator Share Posted June 25, 2014 I don't think you have to worry about anything. Just run Prime95 or any other stress tester, and monitor your temperatures. Make sure they don't get too high. With any small case, heat disposition is hard. As laptops.
