spotify Spotify for movies?

There's Netflix, Google movies and what not...but they still don't have the newer movies.

 

I can't seem to understand why does the movie industry even care for cinemas, they are still after their money not to think of the wellbeing of the cinemas which are privately owned (at least here)

 

Google and other bigger companies should have enough power/money to actually talk the movie indrusty into releasing new movies to buy/rent as well or is there something else stopping them?

 

After Spotify I just can't seem the need to get music any other way, everything I want is on there, mostly in a day or two after release. 7 euros a month is a decent price.

 

Cinema tickets here costs around 6 euros for 2D and 8 for 3D - I would gladly pay that if I could watch the newest movies in my home in comfort and without some brats breathing to my neck, hell I'd even pay more. But what I can see from Google movies (netflix doesn't work here yet) they have movies there that have been out on DVD's etc. for a long time already.

 

Does anybody maybe know what's going on with that? Or is it still the movie industry who's blocking all of it?

If there's one industry that fights change more than the music industry it's the film industry. It's taken them this long to realise licencing even their oldest movies will make them money so i wouldn't your breath for new movies any time soon.

The movie industry don't want new movies on services like Netflix because of piracy. It will be on torrent sites within a few hours, recorded straight from Netflix. Same happens in cinema, but do you enjoy a whole movie recorded by a phone camera? :P

The same might as well happen with movies. Piracy will always exsist, no matter what you do but it can drop thanks to easy accesability to content.

 

For example, I've been waiting for the Haunted house 2 to come to cinemas here, no sing of that yet, it released in the end of March...DVD is coming in August.

It's one of the biggest reasons I have never subscribed to services like Netflix - the movies are just not new enough to warrant the money and I'm not a massive TV watcher.

 

I did for a while have a Sky Movies subscription and every so often they did add some decent stuff and their streaming library was pretty good but it just became far too expensive.

Oh well, I guess we just need to wait and hope.

 

This is getting quite sad actually. Movies on out TV are 5+ years old, Google movies doesn't have anything new and new movies come to the cinemas months later than they are actually released. Just meh :(
