An Arkansas Republican party official is using colorful language to warn Hillary Clinton about her future political prospects in her adopted home state.

Asked how Clinton would fare in Arkansas if she pursued the presidency in 2016, 2nd Congressional District chairman Johnny Rhoda told U.S. News, "She'd probably get shot at the state line."

When a reporter noted that Clinton undoubtedly enjoys a measurable amount of support in a state where her husband served as governor, Rhoda replied, "Nobody has any affection for her. The majority don't."

We've no affection for her so we'll shoot her. I know it was just a bad choice of words but you've got to question that mentality.

Not actually shoot her, figuratively - as in she'd get wiped out in an election there.

I guess the mentality down in the south is to think with a gun in your hand. Just like DocM

Figures of speech do not actions make.

Democrats themselves, including Obama and the Clintons, have used language over the years saying they were going to "target Republicans." Does that mean they planned to shoot, bomb or fire artillery at members of the US House? Of course not.

Same here. Grow up and put on your big boy pants.

Target <> shot.

Target has many other connotations outside of a weapon.

Edit: Yes, I am a gun owner and no I do not believe in gun laws.  I am speaking purely to the ignorant statement made by Mr. Rhoda.

It doesn't sound like a figure of speech. If she said, "She wouldn't have a shot", then that's fine but to say she's going to be "shot at the state line", sounds like a threat.

"When a reporter noted that Clinton undoubtedly enjoys a measurable amount of support in a state where her husband served as governor, Rhoda replied, "Nobody has any affection for her. The majority don't."" ... she sounds pretty delusional now. Can't she can't read a poll? Why is it that Republican's can't admit the truth?

Saying someone will get shot is saying someone will get shot. That's very threatening and incredibly irresponsible.

Party officials like this are the ones people like Jerad and Amanda Miller (http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/06/jerad-amanda-miller-las-vegas-shooting-cliven-bundy-anti-government) listen to.
