Android will take over; it will be on all devices (Watches, TV, Cars.. etc) End for Microsoft in consumer market is near; it was good run What you guys think? Can Microsoft ever catch up to this? georgevella Posted June 26, 2014 Share Posted June 26, 2014 Cars - been there done that Watches - will see, I think this whole smart watch story is just BS (but that's maybe because I'm getting old) Phones & Tablets - can't beat Android in that arena; take a piece of it's market maybe Web Technologies - their presentations where quite impressive (from the brief reading I've done) but MS has their own dev stack server side which ain't a joke Dunno what else they presented in I/O, been busy with work Considering MS is taking the Services route, I doubt they need to worry, albeit they will loose some customers, and win some. For example, without Zune we wouldn't have had Windows Phone 7 and then Windows Phone 8. They also have a smart watch incoming that works across ALL mobile platforms, unlike Android Wear or the rumoured iWatch. I disagree, Microsoft has Laptops and Tablets running Windows as well as phones running Windows Phone. Google are playing catch up in some areas just like Microsoft. Ever heard of "Patch Tuesday", my Surface gets updates every second Tuesday of the month as do all the millions of Windows based Laptops and Tablets out there. In terms of Windows Phone I'll get WP8.1, GDR1, GDR2, GDR3 and Windows Phone 9 on a phone from 2012 that already had WP8, GDR1, GDR2 and GDR3. Android isn't Google's. Google just uses Android. Beside, the only reason that rumor showed up is because Microsoft is moving Nokia X to "Nokia by Microsoft", the rebrand they are doing all over the place. Microsoft isn't going to use Lumia with the Nokia X Platform. And for TS: let's call BS on your statement. Microsoft is the reason computers are everywhere nowadays. With their monopoly they kept destroying anything that would disrupt their cash cow.Thank god apple and google fought through it and we are now enjoying the revolution in technology.
