davidpaj
Does a good IRC client for MAC even exist? Something mirc like maybe or am I just dreaming? I'd be open to suggestions. Thanks, David

protocol7
Depends on how you define "good". I only chat on IRC these days and use LimeChat. Textual is a popular one too. It's commercial on the App Store but you can also get the source code and compile it if you're that way inclined. Denis W. 1 Share
Victor Chernenko
I haven't used Mac for a while, but can recommend Colloquy. It's also available on the App Store.
Shadrack
+1 Colloquy. I think the newer version of Adium has IRC capabilities as well.
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted June 28, 2014 Veteran Share Posted June 28, 2014 Textual, been using it for years and it's quite good. The dev is friendly too and hangs around on freenode.

Denis W. Veteran Posted June 28, 2014 Veteran Share Posted June 28, 2014 Being a newbie to OS X I find LimeChat just okay. Weird how it doesn't have support for finding text in the log. XChat on Windows and *nix is fine. On OS X it looks like a visual disaster. Depends on how you define "good". I only chat on IRC these days and use LimeChat. Textual is a popular one too. It's commercial on the App Store but you can also get the source code and compile it if you're that way inclined. Oh cool, will try compiling Textual. Didn't know it was a fork of LimeChat. nub
I recommend ChatZilla. Edit: I guess the OS X instructions are wrong. Nvm.
what
Textual. A rip-off of Linkinus, but seeing as that isn't being developed anymore, it's a fine alternative.
