GameStop will now give you $40 for an Xbox One Kinect

http://www.polygon.com/2014/6/27/5850458/gamestop-xbox-one-kinect-trade-in-price

If you have an Xbox One Kinect and you're looking to get rid of it, you can now trade it in to GameStop.

Multiple GameStop locations around the U.S. confirmed to Polygon over the phone that as of today, June 27, GameStop will accept trade-ins of the Xbox One Kinect. Customers who take advantage of the offer will receive $40 of store credit, or $32 in cash. For reference, used Xbox One Kinect sensors appear to be going for an average of $60 to $70 on eBay.

$40 is a rippoff for the new Kinect IMO.  Gamestop will turn around and sell it for $80 and make double like they do on used games.

They are smart and clearly preparing for people who will buy the "cheaper version" of the Xbox one but then want to buy Kinect later.

It's a shame how often greed and exploitation are confused with intelligence. As intelligence is in itself subjective I suppose it's not incorrect to say that this is smart, but I personally don't think it is.

This is not to say I don't think it requires intelligence to form the idea, just that the idea as a whole is stupid.

I'm tempted. The Kinect has been fairly terrible. Microsoft would almost definitely be ahead if it wasn't for the horrible Kinect bundling.

I think it is a good deal given the fact Microsoft's vision is long gone

I'm never abandoning my Kinect. Turning on my TV and game system, and Xbox Record That is worth it to me. I don't care what you say, my values. Oh and Gamestop is ripping people off with that trade in value.

If GameStop is offering you $40 for the Kinect...   I'll give you $45 for it.... Cash at that (or pay pal i should say)

I will end up with another One at my house within the next 6mos or so...
