ultimate99
If I get the Crucial MX100 would I see significant difference in speed and performance compared to my current Samsung 830?
Mindovermaster Moderator Posted June 29, 2014 Moderator Share Posted June 29, 2014 Any SSD is faster than any platter HDD. Benchmarks may say yes or no one different things, but in real life, probably little difference. Edit: And I think you meant the 840.

Mindovermaster Moderator Posted June 29, 2014 Moderator Share Posted June 29, 2014 Oh, I thought you meant the difference in buying each, not switching them. You'd probably notice little between the 2.

It will be (very) slightly better in terms of performance seeing how it's an 830 series and not an 840. But you'll get better benefits from the larger capacity (more free space is always better). Roger H. Veteran Posted June 30, 2014 Veteran Share Posted June 30, 2014 Don't think you'll see a single difference. Even if one was 300Mbps vs 550Mbps it wouldnt matter so much for normal usage. The 830 is 500Mbps anyways so no you won't. As mentioned tho, more free space is better however for wear leveling. goretsky 1 Share
