DocM
I would suggest not ####### off Mr. Renning. An extreme acute stress response, he has.http://m.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-28121446 Man 'bends car door' of burning vehicle to save driverA man saved a driver from a burning car by bending the door with his bare hands, say police, describing his feat of "superhuman strength".Bob Renning, 52, pulled up on a freeway in Minnesota to help another vehicle that was filling with smoke. He told the Minneapolis Star Tribune he was not sure how he bent the door open far enough to shatter the window glass.Police officer Zachary Hill was first to the scene and full of praise for Mr Renning's "extraordinary" heroics."He did an extraordinary deed, bending a locked car door in half, of a burning car, to extricate a trapped person," said Hill.Mr Renning, a member of the US National Guard, said he sprinted towards the vehicle as he saw flames and smoke "rolling around" the SUV. His girlfriend called 911.After he realised the vehicle was locked and the windows would not work, Mr Renning gripped the top of the door frame with his fingers, braced his foot against the door and pulled, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.> FiB3R 1 Share

Depicus
I would suggest that the people who broke into my car must have the same "superhuman" strength. Really, it isn't that hard to bent out a car door like that if you can get a good grip. FiB3R 1 Share
Yazoo
Take a look at the door, not much metal to bend, Tempered glass, if stressed will shatter, so not surprising the bending of the car door shattered the glass, making the bend that much easier to do. Not taking anything away from the man, it still takes some strength to bend the door enough to shatter the glass and extreme courage to do it while the car is on fire, not superhuman strength. My neighbor owns an auto body repair shop, and he doesn't have by any stretch "superhuman" strength. He's demonstrated that it's not exactly difficult to bend a door the way this guy did in the picture. I double-dog dare anyone who's not convinced to try it on their own car. Dick Montage
I have bent a car door before - it's really not a big deal at all... I was in an RTA, friend in the back struggling to get out, pulled the corner of the door down and toward. Not saying it was "easy" but was doable without any major fuss. robertwnielsen
Stories like this remind me of the opening narration to The Incredible Hulk TV series: "Dr. David Banner: Physician. Scientist. Searching for a way to tap into the hidden strength that all humans have. Then an accidental overdose of gamma radiation alters his body chemistry. And now, when David Banner grows angry, or outraged, a startling metamorphosis occurs! The creature is driven by rage, and pursued by an investigative reporter." "Mr. McGee, don't make me angry. YOU WOULDN'T LIKE ME when I'm angry!" "The creature is wanted for a murder he didn't commit. David Banner is believed to be dead. And he must let the world think that he is dead. Until he can find a way to control the raging spirit that dwells within him!" To this day, I still think Bill Bixby's line: "Mr. McGee, don't make me angry. You wouldn't like me when I'm angry!" ranks as the biggest understatement ever in the history of episodic television. :punk:
DocM
^^ agreed :D This also reminds me of US football player Herschel Walker - a human Mecha with single digit body fat who pulled a car door off to extricate a 65 year old woman back in the 1980's. Last I heard of him he was >50 years old and still doing 2,000 sit ups a day. robertwnielsen 1 Share
