mrmax22
Need your help guys. When I connect to the net via bellsouth dsl, my internet explorer browser automatically pops up with bell souths web page as the default. I've changed the default page to what I want but bellsouth has overridden this with the first browser pop up. If i close it and open IE again it goes to my chosen default page as chosen by me. Im on XP home version. Any ideas on how to kill this autostart of IE on connect? Thanks, Max

Wizz
I think that Freeserve tried something like this in the UK. Go to Internet Option and under the connections tab go to Lan Settings. You should find that 'Use a proxy server' is checked (if it isn't I'm wrong) so uncheck it. Click ok and go back to the general tab. Click 'Use Blank'. Hope it works. Joseph Zollo
Goto Start, then Run. Type "MSCONFIG" goto the startup tab and take a checkmark out of IEXPLORE, if that's not there try to find something that says bellsouth and take the check out of it. Regardless, you should be able to disable it from the Startup tab in msconfig.
mrmax22
I tried all suggestions and they did not help. Funny thing is when I make the connection automactic upon start I dont get a browser to pop up. If i switch back to never dial a connection Bellsouth's home page pop's up. Irritating!! I've looked every where for a switch to turn this off with no luck. Bellsouth's support team so far dosent have a clue but I'm sure their programmer does. Bastid. Thanks for helping anyways. ionfusion
Do a search in your regedit for www.(or enter in the URL they are defaulting to), if you find the culprit url, then replace that with whatever you want your startup page to be. Let me know if this works.
