max22
I plan on buying a gaming laptop and wondering what would be the best one out there? Price does not matter. Brand and spec wise ?
Damien
Have a peek at these: Razer Blade 14" http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-systems/razer-blade/ Asus G550JK http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/G550JK/ There are others out there if these aren't your cup of tea. :)
zhangm Supervisor Posted July 7, 2014 Supervisor Share Posted July 7, 2014 Do you care at all about balancing mobility and portability with sheer horsepower? Any concerns about display size? The Razer Blade series offers a very fair balance between being gaming-capable and still being a laptop. Traditional DTRs (something like the Asus G750JZ-T4023H) are all about raw power in a form factor that approaches a cinder block.

Guest
Using an ASUS G750 here. Couldn't be more satisfied with it. It has a pretty good build quality as well.
Scirwode
The Lenovo Y50 is another notebook that you should look at. Price competitively with few compromises, it is a good notebook. Scirwode

Xerino
if you want the best bang for your buck, I recommend any ASUS republic of gamers laptops, they usually range between $1100 - $1600 USD respectively, and will run anything you throw at it. 0nyX
A friend lent me his Alienware 17" for 2 weeks and ran as many tests and games as i could during this period. It ran everything perfectly and thermal behavior was excellent. I also enjoyed the build quality. If you can not afford a Razer which comes with extra goodies (touchscreen,4k monitor), i would recommend Alienware Hum 1 Share

Nothing from HP will ever be nice - they are not in the business of making nice, quality, reliable things - their business model is sell crap for cheap and sell to the masses because most people dont want to pay more for quality.... Everyone makes crap, not just HP. Name any brand and someone will have something horrible to say about it, specially their basic models. I would not brush off this new (probably expensive) gaming laptop because in the past their $200 dollar laptop was cheap. You get what you pay for... I have been working with computers for over many years, and I seen every company suck and be good, things change... all it takes is one computer lineup. Nice thing about having so many brands to choose from is... you have many brands to choose from, and experiences vary from person to person. You might be happy with Acer (as an example), and I might be happy with HP (as an example) and there is nothing wrong with that. Normally, any big company, DELL, HP, Lenovo, their consumer side sucks, but their business side are of good.

But, there are some companies that have a reputation for repeatedly putting out unreliable crap - they are in the business of selling cheap & foregoing quality. (Acer, Compaq, etc) You are correct not to shoot down a product before it hits the shelf - HP did buy VoodooPC years ago (right after Dell bought Alienware) & tried, with a cool product, to enter the gaming market with the Blackbird - but people avoided it like the plague because most dont associate HP with quality products.
