Two sets of body parts have been found in two days on Long Island.

In the most recent incident, a man found a severed arm on his front lawn on Webb Ave. in Hempstead on Wednesday at about 2 p.m.

The home owner, speaking for his brother-in-law who spotted the arm, said he smelled a foul odor earlier in the day but thought it was garbage.

?When he saw the arm ? he almost passed out," said Jose Diaz.

The arm appeared to belong to a female and was severed from the shoulder, said police.

A day earlier, two people walking through a parking lot in Bay Shore spotted the partially dismembered body of a woman at about 6:50 a.m.

The body, which has not been identified, was taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner's office.
Police departments for both Suffolk County and Nassau County are looking into whether there is any connection between the findings. They're also trying to determine if the discoveries have anything to do with the Gilgo Beach serial killer.

10 sets of human remains were found in in Gilgo Beach in 2011.

Suffolk County police are asking anyone with information about the bodies contact the Homicide Squad or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.

I'm not sure If I want to look between the lines here and say im suprised they haven't pointed out whether the two different parts of the body are thought to be of the same person or not.

Pretty damn disgustng to commit this act, never mind dumping the parts in what seems random places. This just seems like something you would see on TV, most people want to hide what they have done, this person clearly wants to show it off.

There was a TV news story about the bodies found in that area. Some are probably dumps of gang war victims, but some were prostitutes - a favorite victim of some types of serial killer. The estimates are that there are 35-50 active serial killers in the US at any given time. Hunting them is like a game of Whack-A-Mole.

I wonder if that area is under a commercial flight path?

It has been know for people to stow away in an airplane's landing gear and then get mashed when the wheels go up.
