+longgonebn Subscriber² Posted July 12, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted July 12, 2014 For as long as I remember I have been using cheap disposable shavers. The issue is now I don't care to go to a store and get more, nor do I have the easiest of time using them. My issue it seems is that I let my facial hair grow out for awhile, most of the time until it becomes annoying on my face. Simply because I am lazy. Now I'd like to change that, but its probably not going to happen. So I am looking for the best options to shave with, yet either save me money in the long run and or make it easier. So I have a few options. - Find the best Safety Razer and learn how to use that. - Use a service such as dollarshaveclub.com - Find the best electric shaver and hope it works out for me - Find a large pack of disposable blades and keep doing what I am doing. Ideas, suggestions....etc?
+Matthew S. Subscriber² Posted July 12, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted July 12, 2014 You'd probably just be better off using dollarshaveclub since you're admitting you are lazy.. garwin and Lighthalzen 2 Share
+longgonebn Subscriber² Posted July 13, 2014 Author Subscriber² Share Posted July 13, 2014 My only concern with that, since I am lazy, that they blades each month (4 of them) will start to pile up if I don't actually start shaving more often lol

Knife Party
philips electric shaver, use it. I recommend the 'powertouch' model. Clean shave, no irritation and good charge on the shaver. garwin and Kravex 2 Share
+longgonebn Subscriber² Posted July 13, 2014 Author Subscriber² Share Posted July 13, 2014 hmm I went with buying bulk from Dorco's own website. Its frankly cheaper over all, and I didn't have to go anywhere. Now just finding cream/gel for cheap online and I am set :) Thanks.
Stoffel
I stopped shaving years ago. To much irritation with the job that I do. Now I just use hair clippers on the shortest setting Works like a charm! DaveGreen93 1 Share
farmeunit
Disposable are hell on my face. I went to Gillette Mach 2 and now Mach 3. They are pricey, though. Been thinking about the Dollar Shave Club or getting a safety razor. Safety razors can't be much more than disposable after that initial purchase. x-scratch 1 Share
Myrdhinn
I buy Mach 3 blades off ebay, cheaper than retail at least for me in Canada. Just have to buy in advance since it can take a few weeks to arrive.

nukenorman
Shave in Shower with Shick 5 blade Razors much cheaper than the Gillette but just as good if not better. I do this in the shower as I have sensative skin also the warm water and shaving cream make it go much easier. Then after shower I use an an electric razor to shave the spots I missed etc.. Sure it takes time and I am lazy a lot myself too but in some things in life just can not be lazy. Plus shaving int he shower I dont have to replace the blades all that often jsut once every 2 weeks keeping in mind I shave EVERY day so its not THAT expensive and my electric razor last for years. I cant stand stuble on my face so I do this dispite im lazy like to keep a clean apperiance and its looks better if you have a job too. If you are lazy but have a job and work full time is it really that hard to just take some time to shave? :)
compl3x
I bought this: http://www.amazon.com/Merkur-Model-38-Classic-Barber/dp/B000RJUZMW and I use these blades: http://www.amazon.com/Feather-Hi-Stainless-Platinum-Double-Blades/dp/B001G5HZCY it takes a little getting used to. There is certainly a "method" to shaving; despite what advertisements show us, you don't shave in big long strokes, but in short "patches". Now I enjoy having a nice shave and I pay only cents per blades. The outlay for the razor is offset by how cheap the blades are. Mix up a nice lather with some paraso and you feel fresh faced all day.
Sir Topham Hatt
Like compl3x above, I bought one of these: I paid about ?150 to get set up with rare-ish blades that will last me about 40 years. The storage space is tiny. You may want to look at the Badger and Blade forum, which is primarily USA. Many folks on there will send you free blades when you have a few posts and actively ask questions. You can also find sample packs of creams, soaps and blades on auctions sites like ebay. DirtyLarry Veteran Posted July 18, 2014 Veteran Share Posted July 18, 2014 I personally use Dollar Shave Club. I did almost purchase bulk from Dorco their supplier, but really DSC make it super easy. 4 blades a month. I change it every Sunday Night. Only thing I will say is make sure to change it every week. They are not much good otherwise, but they do last a week well. With that said, I do have very rough facial hair. Over the years I have actually broken two electric clippers outright trying to shave my beard when it grows. Granted they were not top of the line, but they were around $50 clippers. Unfortunately my beard is like barbed wire.

Bigkaye
Baby oil and a small sheet of denim. Dropping the razor in baby oil prevents rust between shaves, rust kills the blade FAST. The denim takes the burrs out of the blade by running it backward over the denim a few times, giving it a sharpening effect. Been using the same razor head since the New Year (Mach 3). I shave 3x a week and don't have sensitive skin. If you shave more often or have sensitive skin this isn't a valid option.
