Phone & TV Controls

Recommended Posts

I think the Play store has an official LG app. Actually, there are 2: 1 for LG tvs released in 2011 & one for TVs released 2012 and beyond. I don't know if the 2012 one has a power button, but I know the 2011 one doesn't.

I think you pair the phone and TV on the same network. If the T.V. is off, it isn't connected to the network and it wouldn't be able to receive the signal to switch on. I am guessing this is why the app doesn't have a power button.

Does the Nexus 5 have an IR blaster? (From memory I don't think it does) If it did you could just use a universal remote app and the phone would function like a regular remote.

Yea those LG apps do not work.

That is what I was afraid of. I wonder if there are any devices you can plug into the TV that will make it work with the phone>?

Gee, grandpa, what a swell idea. While you're at it start up the ol' wireless so we can listen to some big band music.

:p
