Need help identifying music from TV promo - worldbeat/trip hop, similar to Enigma

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I've been wondering what this track is for about 15 years and have never been able to find out. No one seems to know. It's from a promo that aired in 1999 for the TV show "Roswell" and has a bit of a trip hop or worldbeat feel...I honestly can't sort out what TYPE of music it qualifies as but it's quite haunting and I still hope to find the original track someday:

It reminds me of some of Enigma's work but it's not them. Does anyone know this music or have an idea of who the artist(s) might be?

Song: A Loop In Time

Album: Six Degrees 100

Artist: A Six Degrees Collection

Cortana (Windows Phone) identified it in seconds.

She got the artist name wrong. :D

It is "A Loop In Time" by Wally Brill. It's the Banco De Gaia remix.

No, she didn't actually. It was my mistake in transcribing the result over. It's identified as "A Loop In Time (Banco De Gaia Remix)" by "Various Artists", and I stupidly assumed "A Six Degrees Collection" was the artist... which looking at the name, is obviously not the case.

Actually, Enigma is all over the map - consider their MCMXC A. D. (1990) album - heavily influenced by Gregorian chants (literally - old-fashioned religious music - as in the Roman Catholic Church).  ("Principles of Lust" from the same album was in the motion picture "Boxing Helena" - and appeared in the movie's OST album via classical label Varese Sarabande.)

I happen to be a fan of the group (Enigma, that is), and BECAUSE of "Boxing Helena" - which is how I wound up buying MCMXC A. D. and the followup "The King Is Dead - Long Live The King".  Besides, Wall of Sound is NOT where I usually hang my hat.

Nitpickers are everywhere, it seems.
