Creating MP3s from a FLAC file?

Question

I have a bunch of flac music files, but each file also has a cue sheet with it, because the single flac file is a full album, but I want to make it so I can listen to each individual song.

If each song was a FLAC by itself you could just use some conersion program like WinFF.

Since they're all in one file, may be easier to just open the files in something like Audacity and split the timeline in between songs and export it as MP3.

CueTools.

Just tried that, didn't work, made a single MP3 from the FLAC file, so really all it did was change it over to a different format.

I'm guessing there is no cue file. You can use Audacity to split the tracks manually and save them as individual files though.

Try selecting Tracks in Mode box.

If that doesn't help, CUE file is perhaps invalid. I've had no proper file CUETools couldn't use thus far.

Might check Medieval CUE Splitter, but the above applies.

Did you not read my OP where I said, and I quote:

Here is how you do it with Foobar2000 (the only easy way I know) and I've done it countless times.

Let me know if you're stuck somewhere, I will try to help you.

As long as you have the CUE file for each album you can use Medieval CUE Splitter to split the FLAC into files for each song. I've used it several and it works great.

Once you have FLACs for each song you can use whatever program you like. I really like EZ CD Converter for its features and multitheaded performance. I can convert a full album from FLAC to MP3 in 20 seconds using 8 threads.

Sorry for the late reply, been busy with work. Mode > Tracks worked, and as it turned out not all the music was in single FLAC files, a few were in another file format, and CUETools picked up on that and converted them into single mp3s as well.

No, just no. Medieval CUE Splitter is notorious for causing sector boundary errors (SBEs) when splitting tracks. This is very bad when you're dealing with correctly ripped albums. CueTools is all you want when splitting image+CUE albums, period.
