Show us your Man Cave - 2014 Edition

Recommended Posts

So getting inspiration from around the internet I was looking at the Man Cave pictures (Due to an impending move)....

Maybe if you have a cool addition to the man cave post where you got it, I am sure there will be people asking.

Post away  :woot:

I've recently moved house and the new property came with an out door office space, which was awesome because i run a web design business from home.

Currently it's just an empty shed with a desk and computer in it, so i'll be watching this thread with interest!

^ I like it, very discrete. I wish I had an official man cave. I live in a one bedroom apartment - so the whole place is a man cave heh.

I've actually got a book somewhere buried in a moving box, that is all about inspiration for sheds and the like. I'm going to dig it out, i'm currently off sick so have plenty of time to amuse myself with this :p

I moved from London about 4 years ago, to the highlands of Scotland. The cost of living is a great improvement and the amount of space you can get is amazing.

In London i was paying the same for a one bedroom bedsit as i'm paying for a three bedroom garden house now.

this made me think about when I was a kid. my parents had a barn with a room that was used for storage and such, it was complete with a heater, and a  bathroom, it also had carpet, a couch and a entertainment center.  and a nice view of a pond and woods. I would spend most of my time there instead of the house.

"Man Cave" is one of those words which makes you want to punch someone.

You should try #bearcave

I totally misunderstood the term of 'Man Cave' - Thought it might be one of those European terms for parts of a mans anatomy  :dontgetit:

As in... "Put your pants back on, i keep catching a glimpse of your man cave" ?

I personally don't say man cave but in the confines of this thread, it makes more sense, as pointed out, it's internationally recognised.

RIght glad we got that cleared up!! So now pics........ :-p I need some inspiration for an impending move.

For mine, as i'm based in the Highlands, i'm thinking highland hunting lodge. Dark oak effect with green fittings, antlers, lots of whisky... probably be garish as hell but hell, i'm down.

I've just run wired net to it, through a switch in to a router (for wireless devices). Need to run a phone line (or hook it in to the network cable, not sure which route to take yet). But that's all because mine will primarily be used as an office for the business and a chill out room second.

Lighting is the thing i'm most excited about. Currently the place is decked out with one those super bright, headache inducing strip lights. I'll keep that in place for when i need a lot of light but i'll add some other lights for a more chilled environment.

What sort of thing you thinking of doing in your place?

I am thinking office like but crossed with entertainment. So might get a projector. I have multiple montors atm.

Projector sounds like a good idea, don't think i've got space to pull it off though :(
