Audiobook app?

Recommended Posts

I've got a bunch of audiobooks on my computer and I had thought of using Dropbox/OneDrive etc to store them and stream them although it turn out neither of them stream m4b files.

Am I missing something or is iTunes the only way to easily sync them to my phone?

I'd rather do this OTA/streaming so I don't have to choose before hand which books to sync to my device.

I had this issue on Android, nothng I could find would play the Audio books I had. In the end I just used a converter and converted it to MP3 so anything would play them.

Crap, I'd thought of doing that. Problem is, at least on iOS, the music app doesn't remember playback position when you close the music app so I'd constantly have to scrub to find my spot in the book.

Yep, again I had the issue of listening to an Audio book on my way to and from work in the default music app on Android (which did keep its position) but would then loose it when I went to the Gym and listened to other playlists. I've now got Winamp (not sure if that's available on Itunes) which keeps track position and allows me to still then fire up my normal music app and listen to different playlists.

Its not the best solution, an Audio book player would be much better but it was the best I could come up with at the time so I've just stuck with it.
