When an App is Bought "Free", How do I Restore it?

So a while ago there was the free promotion where Angry Birds and a bunch of others were free.  I grabbed them, but never used them so un-installed them a few days ago.

Now I look back in the store, it only gives me the option to buy it.

 

Do I need the web browser to re-install previously paid for apps that are now un-installed?

 

Does this also work for apps that are free for the time being but go back to being paid for?

you should be able to go into the store app and hit Settings, My Apps and re-download it that way, or just browse to it and "buy" it again. i have re-installed a few apps it just knows you already own it.

Windows Phone doesn't show you if you purchased something or not till after you click 'buy' (8.1 now says 'owned' next to searched for apps now). Don't worry there's a next step before you make the purchase and if you already own it then it will tell you on the next page or camel if you don't. You could also log into www.windowsphone.com and look at your purchase history and send it to your phone from there.

is that 8.1? that looks like 8.1.

 

on 8, you just press "buy" and it won't charge you. or "reinstall" from the purchase history online.
