Is this really how the iPhone 6 back will look like?

Recommended Posts

In my humble opinion the iPhone has always been one of the best looking phones around, regardless the generation. But the recent leaks have left me baffled. Those white and rubbery-like strips along the back look beyond hideous to me.

So, are those placeholders for the final antenna enclosure material or is this the final design?

Fake. I can tell by the 'iPhone' text (font not correct).

Unfortunately its been regarded as authentic by three major apple news sites :( so either its placeholder material or we are looking at the iPhone 6 aka the iPhone everyone will skip.

There have been a bunch of images floating about that seem to share that design; I think it looks dreadful.

Man, I wish I had a link, but I've read that the back is supposed to be like the 5/5s, and that the backs we've been seeing have not had their tops and bottoms cut for the glass parts yet.

But then again, this time last year, the completed backs of the 5c and 5s (since it was just a 5) were leaking. http://www.phonearena.com/news/New-pictures-leak-comparing-Apple-iPhone-Lite-and-Apple-iPhone-5_id45516

Well, I thought for sure that some elements of Windows 8 were placeholders too, but that's how it shipped. It's not out of the question to see Apple create a tacky looking product too.

The photos could also be of a bad/prototype batch.

If history is any indicator with Apple product leaks, I'll reserve judgement till the finished product is shown. Remember when the iPhone 4 leaked and everyone was complaining about the un-Apple look and the antenna breaks. Today I consider the iPhone 4 the best looking of all the iPhones.

Totally agree. I would certainly pay for an iPhone 4s with updated innards.

+1 maybe just slightly thinner, but pretty much the iPhone 4 is spot on design wise.

It won't be the final design. They simply won't go from the 5/s to THAT. It is hideous.  Maybe it is a bodge-job prototype but that can't be anywhere near final.

Doubt it. There was plenty of disgust towards leaked photos of the 3G, 4, 4S, 5 and 5S. All the same arguments, too. I distinctly remember people saying how ugly the 4 looked with those "gaps" and that everyone would skip it. Didn't happen.

This is looking worse by the minute. An alleged leaked internal photo from an Apple modeler's desk. You try to make your model reflects the final materials that the final product will use :/

I don't know. Too many pics from different sources are depicting the very same design. A coincidence? A large scale complicity of showing the same fake design?
