AdDuplex CEO offers more evidence of LG's return to Windows Phone

A new message from AdDuplex CEO Alan Mendelevich offers some more concrete evidence that LG may be returning to the Windows Phone front in the near future with a new device.

AdDuplex is getting ready to release its monthly report on the Windows Phone hardware ecosystem, based on stats collected from their ad service. As a teaser ahead of the full report's release, Mendelevich posted a message on his Twitter feed today: "AdDuplex Stats Teaser: LG D635 WP8.1 720p 5" spotted."

In February during the World Mobile Congress trade show, LG was revealed as a hardware partner for Windows Phone, after previously releasing products for the older WP7 OS. Earlier this year, a render of an alleged upcoming LG Windows Phone product was posted by "evleaks" but later he suggested the render was in fact a hoax.

What do you think of LG's possible return to the Windows Phone fold?

If this is true, at 720p and 5" we're looking at a mid to low range phone here, should have a good price if it comes true.

The lack of flagship WPs is sad. Why no G3 WP equiv? Why not super HD awesome camera with laser focusing?

Or why no unlocked well speced 350 dollar phone like the Nexus 5?

They're playing it safe and going in at the low-mid range where the volume play is, even with android that's where the volume is.  People need to remember that LG and Samsung and others to that are in the top 10 OEM volume wise have a boat load of mid and lower range models and only 1 or 2 high end models.  The high end just doesn't bring in the same things for them, they do get a nice initial pop, or did, I think for Samsung and it's Galaxy S the love people had for it has started to fade compared to the glory days of the S2 and S3, compared to that the S5 from what I remember initially was looked down on.

That's why LG has seen success with the G2, I think people moved off of buying into Samsung and jumped over to LG, don't know how good the G3 has done in comparison but long story short, you don't hear either of them talking up their flagships sales wise like they used to.

If they low and midrange can do good then there's no doubt in my mind that LG and any other OEM will then bang out a higher end device.
