Scraggles
I'm looking for good computer speakers to replace my Logitech Z5500's. I do not want a subwoofer and I want somewhat compact speakers. Wall mountable if possible. I'm currently looking at either the Bose Companion 2, or Companion 5 as I do not know of anything else comparable. Do you guys have any suggestions? Needs: No Subwoofer Somewhat Compact Size Good Sound Decent price. I'm not looking to spend any more than 250$ on them.
The Dark Knight
I would strongly advise against Bose. They are nothing but ridiculously overpriced (but inferior) products. Go for something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Creative-GigaWorks-Multimedia-BasXPort-Technology/dp/B001S14DYO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406645901&sr=8-1&keywords=creative+gigaworks

I am open to all suggestions as I don't care for the brand name at all if the product delivers. I'd use a Wal-Mart branded set of speakers if they sound good. I listen to a lot of music and fairly high volumes at times.
The Dark Knight
Of course. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. That's why I said, "I would advise against". :) Listen to these at a store near you. I'm confident you won't be disappointed!

The whole internet and reputable review (audiophile) sites agree that Bose, whilst doesn't completely sound like garbage, are over priced for what they are, wouldn't say inferior, just their price range is not what they offer. I would strongly advise against Bose. Astra.Xtreme
I believe the M-Audio AV40 speakers are the golden standard for reasonably priced speakers w/o a subwoofer. Draconian Guppy 1 Share

The first link, the harmon kardon... Has a subwoofer and well... they look atrocious to me. Clear plastic? Yellows with age. Especially here in Arizona. The 2nd Link. Again, subwoofer. Why would I trade my Z5500's which sound great... for another set of speakers with a subwoofer that are inferior(most likely) 3rd link, Audioengine A2+, those are an option. I'm not overly crazy about volume control being on the back but I can use my keyboard for volume controls. 4th link, I really like the look of those. I'm going to definitely research them some more. I haven't heard of that brand before. 5th link, Too gimmicky for me. I can't have a complete eyesore on my desk.

Yup, pretty much when anyone types bose :p Those were just quick examples that there are others brands out there besides Bose, specifically the ones Astra suggested, are recommend in my past post. http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-computer-speakers/ Astra.Xtreme 1 Share
