(Y) If you had bad experience with them it doesn't mean they're bad, does it? ;) A company I consulted for, for couple of years and our users (3000+) all had Symanted Endpoint Protection installed and we have never heard someone had problem with that. On the other had my current company have F-Secure and this I can sure tell you it's a nightmare, not because I had problems with it but we had a lot of problems in our production environments and after troubleshooting we found out that it was because of this AV. And my recent problem was that it detected Google Chrome x64 exe file as a trojan when I tried to DL and install. lol Back to topic: ESET/NOD32 is a great AV and in my opinion number 1 (have it installed on 5 computers) but that is my opinion so good luck with it! goretsky and +E.Worm Jimmy 2 Share Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ambroos Posted August 3, 2014 Share Posted August 3, 2014 Sorry Ambroos, have to disagree with you there :p No AV company has a spotless record when it comes to updates allthough ESET is a lot better than most (i think the last was just a high cpu usage one back in ~2011). They also implememted the rollback feature in v6 i think... ESET has the highest amount of VB100 awards of all antivirus vendors. And they're the only ones who haven't failed a single VB100 test in the last ten years. To me that's saying something. In other tests they also show they are significantly better in weeding out false positives. In AV Comparatives they're usually the only one of the 'top' AV vendors that makes it into the awards for least false positives. Extremely unobtrusive, seems very fast & not resource intensive, and presumably doing a great job as I've not had a single malware or virus infection ever since I started using it. The brick and mortar stores around me have them on sale a few times every year, each, so there's always a chance to get a new copy for next year. It was good, the only issue I had was it seemed like it would slow everything down. Not sure why that is. Went to Eset, and not going back. I still wonder what they were thinking when they made that ridiculous UI in the past :/ This is THE REASON I stopped using avast and went with Avira. Making this the Default look was so so wrong. I could not even explain my dad how to use it, when it auto-updated on him changing UI :x :x :x Now I am using ESET Nod32, paid, and I love it even better. Yearly price is pretty cheap, all things considering. I also Immunize with free Spybot - search and destroy! I used to use adaware too, but I wanted to limit the number of security programs to 2. spybot seemed the best at preventative immunization, and Nod32 at life protection.
