Cosmin
Hy. For some reason I experienced some freezes with my current system and tried to find out which could be the main reason. Freezes appeared only while playing games or rendering some of my projects in Autodesk Showcase. Tested : - RAM with memtest86 - Passed - CPU with intel diagnostic tool 64 bit - Passed - GPU with furmark - freezes after 8-10 seconds (tried twice). It's temperature ~ 40 degrees. My system : CPU - Intel Core i7 4770 (35 degrees temperature). Mobo - Asus H87 Pro RAM - Corsair Vengeance 8Gb (4+4) GPU - Sapphire 5770 1GB PSU - Seasonic 620W Could be the driver or it's a hardware failure ? Currently have installed the latest catalyst driver.. Thanks for all your suggestions!
Cosmin
Tried also with an older driver (13.9) and gives me now "display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered".. :/
vcfan
try to underclock your GPU, see if the probem persists. you should be able to change the clock rate using catalyst control center. fusi0n 1 Share
Jason S. Global Moderator Posted August 4, 2014 Global Moderator Share Posted August 4, 2014 sounds to me like a driver issue; however, could be a power issue. Check to make sure your card is getting enough juice fusi0n 1 Share
Sandor
Tried also with an older driver (13.9) and gives me now "display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered".. :/ Got that on and off for a few weeks before my card (nvidia card though) finally gave up with the usual distorted text/colours and obvious failure symptoms. fusi0n
I would say driver or overheating.. Do you have a spare video card to test with?

Well .. I have the one from CPU (Intel Core i7 4770) integrated.. but should I test this Radeon on another system with furmark for full verdict? So symptoms are clear.. freezes under stress (showcase rendering/gaming etc). Also tried it on showcase without any driver installed and haven't had problems..sure..will performance dropped a lot.
