Keyboard Cowboy
Xbox Music, Cortana Outlook, Bing Weather, and third part apps in the developer preview don't work at all unless I'm hooked up to an internet connection... Is this by design and I just didn't get the memo?
LittleNeutrino Veteran Posted August 5, 2014 Veteran Share Posted August 5, 2014 Bing weather works for me so long as it has synced already. it will display the last information it had. Cortana cannot work without an internet connection as all of what she does is external. outlook works for me without issue showing me all the email that has already synced down. and I have not even opened the music app since the update as it is generally useless. Guest
No idea why is that happening to you. Try restarting your phone. Apps should all work in offline mode.

Already tried that and messed with a ton of settings and nothing worked...

CG-88
That is so strange! My cortana works for reminders etc with no internet, bing weather remains showing weather if it syncs before I leave my house and so does xbox music. I would suggest rolling back to wp8 using nokia recovery and doing it again, something must have glithced
FiB3R
I would reinstall the individual apps, before going as far as a roll back. CG-88 1 Share
CG-88
I would reinstall the individual apps, before going as far as a roll back. good idea ha! I suppose the only other option to do before a rollback would be a hard reset "from scratch" and not use a backup to see if that helps any. Keyboard Cowboy
I don't think the Nokia rollback app is going to work on my Samsung unless I'm mistaken. Everthing else you guys mentioned I already tried. I wish I would of bothered to see if they were working before I threw the preview on (I just got the phone)... +primortal Subscriber² Posted August 7, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted August 7, 2014 Which Samsung? Have you installed all the post 8.1 updates and update 1? I tried the apps you listed in Airplane mode and didn't have any issues. Granted I'm using a Nokia Lumia Icon so it might be device specific. +primortal Subscriber² Posted August 11, 2014 Subscriber² Share Posted August 11, 2014 Might want to take a look at this thread, http://forums.wpcentral.com/samsung-ativ-s-neo/276920-data-not-working.html It appears it's a known issue with Samsung and WP 8.1+
Keyboard Cowboy
That is a lot of information to go through haha. I've tried a few things there but sadly they didn't work... But thank you very much +primortal! Keyboard Cowboy
I finally got it to work! In a nut shell I had to restore the 8.0 ROM and poof everything works again. In theory I could get the 8.1 preview back on and it should be fine as long as I don't do a reset on it. But you know what, I'm good.
