Still my best looking next-gen game. :)

Ryse: Son of Rome, Crytek’s exhilarating next-gen title, has earned itself a prestigious SIGGRAPH award for Best Real-Time Graphics.
Ryse was released last November for Xbox One, and has impressed players and press around the world with its groundbreaking visuals. During the game’s development there was a special emphasis on realistic characters and immersive story-telling; all of which helped to catch the eye of SIGGRAPH's judging panel and earn Ryse a top spot in their Computer Animation Festival awards.
SIGGRAPH is the leading annual festival on computer graphics and interactive techniques, and is running this year from 10 August, 2014 until 14 August, 2014 in the Vancouver Convention Center, Canada.

I don't think anyone should be surprised about this. It's a gorgeous game and a solid leap forward in teeth technology.

I too was impressed by the teeth technology.

I also thought the translucent ear tech looked rather spiffy. Always nice to see a healthy glow through the pinna of one's ears.

Well deserved, very well deserved. Hopefully we get a Game of Thrones style sequel, it would be amazing.

Were you living under a rock? It was a launch title for Xbox One.

out of curiosity, does this award include PC gaming? i'd agree it's a gorgeous-looking game for next gen consoles, but...

Yeap. It includes anything and everything which is rendered in real-time. What you've got to remember is this is not a award for resolution and frame-rate, rather the techniques and art which is used in rendering real-time.This is something which Ryse excels at.
