Getting my first 'smartphone'

Recommended Posts

Yesterday, I left my phone on my doorstep for only a couple seconds.  I then realize I forgot my phone.  I went back to get it and my phone was gone.  I asked the neighbor to check with their kids to see if they see anyone took it.  They did took it.  I got it back and the phone screen no longer display anything.  The 1inch monitor is totally off.  So I decided to purchase a new phone.  I have no clue on what to get.  I decided on this phone.

I have a few questions to ask you guys.  I am getting this phone from Amazon.  Now if you look at the back of that phone and then the spec listed, it's different.  The seller used the word "I" and not "we".  Is this a legit purchase?  Is this phone good?  Does Amazon guarantees that I will get this phone?  Will I be getting what I order?  The spec on the back of this picture says differently than the spec listed in the description.  At the time I purchase, it was 189$ but after I purchase, this product is now 199$.  Is this discrepancy worth taking note?

Why get on Amazon when you can get HERE?  $70 US price difference.

I would get a bigger name as well, but maybe this is well known where you are, so I can't say.

Resolution and camera is fairly low-end compared to others.

God danggit... I overpaid...

Amazons phones comes unlocked.  The other link is cheaper but doesnt look like it is unlocked.  Not sure if it justifues the whole $70 price difference, but I am sure it justifies a good chunk of it.

Anyway, looks like a decent phone.  Try it and if you dont like it, Amazon normally has a good return policy.  If you return it, and want to use Android as the OS, I would look in to the Moto phones or the Nexus line.  LG makes some pretty good phones as well as HTC and Sony.
