yeah and then i went into office itself and told it to check for updates and it told me that there arent any updates available. When I get home i am going to try it again and see if there is something going on locally at home.

No it sa full copy of Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus Edition (bought via the Microsoft Home use Program through work) There is a manual update checker if you go to account on any of the apps. however, generally it does get its updates through Windows update. I am not certain why it did not pick any up this time.

 

My work PC (Windows 7 Pro x64) Running the same version of office (only it is a Volume License Copy) has 15 updates though.

My Visio copy (through Dreamspark) updated properly through WU, but now I see that the c-t-r version of Home and Student 2013 started downloading updates when I checked for them through Word. Weird stuff, previous to this month it would usually update itself automatically without even bothering with WU.

Can anyone help me I have 2 updates that keep failing.

 

1 is KB2975719 and the other is MS14-051: Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer: August 12, 2014

 

I really don't know how to fix it :(

Which error do you get, in case of 80070002 or 80070003:

 

1. Win + S and typ "cmd.exe"

2. Right click on command prompt and run as admin

3. Type "sfc /scannow" (without the ")

4. Wait until it has finished and try updating again

Just got my update too... August 13 I get 13 updates... have to restart my computer like 13 times to get my Windows Gadgets to run properly...

A lot of the engine of Internet Explorer is used by Windows and many programs. It's best to keep it up-to-date.

Starting to bother me since I already have Service Pack 1 installed, and it was a LOT bigger than 2MB. First guess is a new WAT update disguised as SP1. Since SP1 cannot be uninstalled, that would force the WAT check. If that is the case, legit Windows users being forced to deal with the annoyance isn't nearly as troublesome as what this will do to people using a pirated version. Let the games begin.

I've been rolling out updates to a whole bunch of Win7 x64 machines at work today. Win7 SP1 was not offered on a single one of them.

Its known that I have itch for testing browsers. So latest Patch Tuesday brings more WebGL extension support and improvement as compared to Internet Explorer Developer Channel 1.

Yes, if you read the KB page on the IE update, even though it is called a security update it contains more than that - including WebGL improvements.

Why not IE11?  Don't you want to stay updated?  Not going to ask why not Windows 8.  I just want to pick on the small thing.  I am using Windows 7 x54 but have IE11 on cos Visual Studio requires IE for whatever reason. :/
