Sure, you could spend an eternity searching the web for why suspend doesn't work on your laptop, but why waste your time if someone has already solved it? Browse our library of customized open source operating system distributions and you may find one for your specific machine that has all the quirks worked out. If you've spent countless hours making an open source operating system run perfectly on your machine, how about sharing it? You will save people from the same hair loss or mental breakdown that you experienced.
