if this is in the US, All restaurants have to go through a servsafe program for their food handlers and more. proper sanitation procedures are imperative. Changing a diaper on an eating surface is simply downright ignorant. not to mention if the health department were there when this happened, the establishment could be shut down for something of this nature.

but to sum up this incident, "alot of people lack simple common sense."

As a father of a 16 month old I have to agree that is completely disgusting. Go to your damn car. This is just lazy and inconsiderate. And she even has the nerves to sue the restaurant... SMH...

Bathroom counter or floor are still better places than on the same table you're going to be eating on, some people have not sense or are just disgusting, wonder what her house looks like with that attitude

Wouldnt say that.  Have you seen some of the bathroom floors in restaurants?

The woman should have approached the manager and asked if there was a good place to change her kid.  The fact she didnt and felt like she had to take things in to her own hands...shes an idiot and just looking for attention.

My question is, why is this even news? Who at the Huffington Post thought this is a story worth reporting on? People who are sane would never do this. They wouldn't want other people doing it and they themselves wouldn't do it.

If I was a restaurant owner, I'd throw her out too! I wouldn't even dare risk 50 customers for one, that's for sure.

She had a baby @ 60 ?

At first I thought she was one of those wack-job religions where the women have to wear long, straight hair, and long sleeved, full length dresses -- but these are just regular wack-jobs

That picture is taken @ a church..... yep ! certifiable wack-job - definately

If this is a family restaurant that caters to families with young children and babies they really should have changing tables in the restrooms. Having said that, changing a baby on a surface from which you eat is very gross. Doing it in the middle of a restaurant and turning everyone off of their food shows a special level of contempt for your fellow diners.

Tossed out or booted out by the backside sounds appropriate for that level of poor manners, respect and hygiene.

I don't know why that part made me laugh out loud.

Because then they would have to throw the guy/gal that was throwing up out of the restaurant as that might make someone else throw up. It's like those mirror in a mirror pics.  :woot:

I think most people would have gone out to their car to do that if they needed to.

I have a 2.5 year old and have done that (going to car to change the diaper) many many times.

I've thrown 4 customers out for trying to change their kids on the tables in the restaurant. This isn't about having changing tables in the bathrooms or not. It's about getting your ######ing establishment shut down by the health department - which is unarguably worse than losing a single customer. Some mothers just don't get that just because your baby ###### itself, you don't have to change it IN the restaurant. Why not go out to your car real quick and change it in the back seat?
